A: Here is the list of requirements that must be met before filing a Lemon Law Claim:

  1. The vehicle must have a defect that substantially impairs its use, market value, or safety. The defect cannot be caused by the driver/owner’s abuse or neglect.

  2. The vehicle must have been repaired 4 or more times for the same issue or have been out of use for a total of at least 45 days for repairs, during the warranty, or 1 year after purchase.

  3. The claim must be filed within 3 years of the purchase date or 1 year after the end of the warranty, whichever is later.
